This 2,600 sq. ft. house is located on a
corner site adjacent to a waterway in Longboat Key, Florida. Spatial and
formal characteristics are the result of a specific program of architectural
research.
Structural system: Concrete block and wood frame exterior and interior walls; reinforced concrete floors and terraces; cast in place concrete columns. Major materials: Integrally colored stucco; standing seam metal on roof and ramped surfaces; marble, tile, and stained concrete floors, sidewalk, and driveway. Mechanical system: Gas-fired heating; forced air supply/central return air conditioner. The house also relies on natural cross ventilation. Publication Graphic Designer: Margaret Fletcher |
